The Group’s legal department is divided into more than 10 thematic individual departments, such as Aviation Law or Labor Law. In addition, there are the legal departments of the subsidiaries with the most diverse requirements.
Previously, all of Lufthansa’s information and legal cases were located in individual filing systems, on PC drives and in personal e-mail inboxes, coupled with analog file folders – a time-consuming “mess.” These working conditions made smooth processing difficult.
In order to standardize all work processes and simplify internal communication across departments, it was necessary to establish digital structures.
SPECIFIC LUFTHANSA REQUIREMENTS:
1. security and data protection: Lufthansa retains sovereignty over stored data in its own data center and internal security standards are met.
2. flexibility: the software must work for all legal departments and working models (FlexDesk, home office, business travel) and offer options for individual configuration
3. agility: cross-departmental communication with simultaneous processing of data is a prerequisite for a contemporary work structure.
Lufthansa has consistently introduced the digital file since 2014. With LECARE’s electronic file management, the company has obtained a software solution that enables it to continuously meet the security-related requirements of its legal departments.
